Steam Punk Invitations for my Sister

My sister got married in December in Orlando Florida, at the Disney Boardwalk. It was a very beautiful ceremony and I'm happy for her and my new brother-in-law (who I already felt like he a family member even before he was officially inducted)

She wants to have a party at their home for the folks who couldn't make it, so they are having a steam-punk themed party. Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction. Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain -- that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. So here's what I came up with:

For this card I used:
Cardstock -- Basic Gray (base), Black, Whisper White
Stamps -- En Francais (SU!) and Extreme Elements (SU!)
Inks -- Tempting Turquoise, Concord Crush, Brushed Gold

Stamp Out Cancer October 30th

I wanted to share the news about a really special event from my stamp group:

Want a fun time stamping for a great cause? Then come to South Austin on Saturday, October 30th to "Stamp Out Cancer", a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen organization to fight breast cancer.

For $15 you will make 5 cards (one design) with the pink ribbon, along with envelopes to send them to the women you love. You'll get to have a fun time and know that your participation helped make a difference to a woman who is fighting against this disease, with the hope that one day breast cancer will be a thing of the past.

All RSVPs must be received by October 18th to allow time to get your packet ready. Our goal? 100 stampers! Please email me if you'd like to be a part of this amazing event, and I'll give you all the details. Tell your friends, too!

Prior to the event there will be a retired stamp sale hosted by several local Stampin' Up demonstrators. Stamp sale starts at 9:30 a.m. and goes until 10 a.m., then the stamping starts at 10:10 sharp.

UPDATE:

So we didn't have as big of a turnout as we would have liked, but we still had a fun time chatting and crafting. I hope next time we'll see more people out for any events we have, as they are a blast!

My first video tutorial

Hello!

I love, love, LOVE stamping. But more than anything, I love sharing it with people I care about. Many friends and family members stamp with me. We live all over the place though, so it's difficult to find time together. That's what spurred this idea to create video tutorials.

This is my first video, and in theory, these things should only get better as I do more of them... right? I sure hope so! lol

I'm a demonstrator!

I recently became a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator because I enjoy crafting very much. It's very rewarding to create something by hand to share with the people you care for. Robot Birthday

I made this card for one of my co-workers... in January... of last year -- that's how behind I am! I think robot stuff is so fun, and I'm happy that stamp makers are picking up on this trend! I found a great pack of designer paper from Jo-Ann's called Generation Tech. It was a pack full of video game/technology themed papers. This binary code sheet seemed a perfect background for the card. Then I embossed the nuts and bolts on the side in silver.

For this card I used:
Card stock: Kraft (base), Generation Tech (DSP), Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Gray.

Stamps: Lots of Bots (SU!)

Coworker Commissions

Last year one of my supervisors had requested some cards from me for his wife, for Valentine's and her birthday (there's only 5 days difference between the two). Well this year I was pre-emptive and brought some for him to choose from beforehand. He was very appreciative and this is what he chose:

For his wife's birthday:
I love, love, LOVE punny things, so I had to get this set. I'm also digging this new DSP called Razzleberry Lemonade -- the color combinations are so perfect. It's probably the fastest pack I've gone through... I'm about to have to order more!

For this card I used:
Card stock - Kraft (base), Melon Mambo, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and White
Stamps - Comfort Food (SU!)

And for Valentine's Day:
I learned a great watercolor technique from Kim at Stamp-a-rama during stamp club and that's how I made the rose. I had been on the fence about getting that stamp set but making this definitely convinced me to spring for it.

For this card I used:
Card stock - Kraft (base), Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and White (photopaper)
Stamps - Yummy (SU!) and Fifth Avenue Floral (SU!)

Graffiti Birthday Card

I tend to have lots of real cutesy stamps, but I wanted to make a card that had a bit of different feel, and I'm pretty happy with what I was able to do.
